2025 - Goals

2024 was somewhat frustrating. I cycled more than I did during 2023, but I wrote less.
My milage was up, but the number of issues I published was down.
Ride Reports: 2024 & 2023
The elephant in the room is that I'm a year behind in writing my reports; i.e., what I wrote about last year, I rode the year before. I need to focus more on my writing and whilst I don't realistically think I can catch up completely, I need to make a strong effort to get the remaining 4 reports from 2023 completed, as well as all 12 of my reports from 2024 — written and published during 2025.
Rides to Remember
During 2024 I updated four older reports to the new design for my Rides to Remember section. I want to update an additional four of the 12 remaining reports to the new design during 2025. Also of note are any NEW rides that I find worthy of adding to this section.
Routes to Ride
Currently, there are 26 routes awaiting development. That is: seven Beginner Routes, four Intermediate Routes, nine Advanced Routes, and lastly, six for "The Valleys".
Places to Visit for Future Ride Reports
These are my big goals. Going places, seeing things, and documenting the routes are the three primary objectives of my cycling (and this blog). By following these goals the cycling distances should add up naturally. (It's the writing that I get behind on.)

I try not to dwell on numbers, I'd rather focus on places and experiences, but there's no denying the fact that I worry with these figures as well. I've had the same set of yearly goals for the past seven years and these numbers merely provide a scale to measure and compare my cycling efforts.

2025 Issues
Then the elephant on the webpage is how and when do I plan to publish all of this?

From 2024 - "I started publishing this blog/website in a magazine format nearly seven years ago and I'm proud of what I've created. However, I think it's time to start thinking about something new. Over the next three years, I hope to publish my last 10 issues and round out 10 years of publishing with 50 issues. What I do after that, I haven't a clear idea."
With that said, I plan to publish four issues during 2025:
  • FINISH!!! December - Volume 08, Issue 03, Number 43
  • April - Volume 09, Issue 01, Number 44
  • July- Volume 09, Issue 02, Number 45
  • December - Volume 09, Issue 03, Number 46

Considering how poorly I worked on this blog last year, I am somewhat skeptical of how I will perform this year. It's January 27th, 2025. I've a lot to do.
