Ride Reports: 2024, 2023, & 2022
The elephant in the room is that I'm a year behind in writing my reports; i.e., what I wrote about last year, I rode the year before. I need to focus more on my writing and whilst I don't realistically think I can catch up completely, I need to make a strong effort to get the remaining 4 reports from 2023 completed, as well as all 12 of my reports from 2024 — written and published during 2025.
The Weather: 2024
The table below to compiles the monthly and yearly weather conditions as I recorded them in my 2024 Weekly Calendars. I then compared those numbers with last years to create the charts below.
As you can see, in 2024 we had 152 days with precipitation — compared to 2023 when we had 191 days with precipitation. Whilst the cloudy days remained fairly consistent between the two years, having 39 additional days without precipitation made cycling much more compelling and easier!
Goals & Achievements: 2024
Each year I set myself a modest set of goals. I don't worry too much about my progress or "success"; this merely gives me a few numbers to measure my cycling against.

88.90% for my total distance and 81.25% for the total number of rides ranks as the second highest in my overall yearly performance since 2018. It's a decent effort, but I think I can do better. For more details on my yearly numbers, click below:
The Good News & Looking Ahead...
I went several interesting rides; of particular note was one up to Cairn y Bugail (photo above) and I finally made it out to Raglan Castle. I also had another wonderful campout this year in Usk where I met a fella on a cycle tour from the US. We spent two nights camped in the castle before heading back to Oakdale where we then spent another several days touring around the Valleys.

In Closing...
It was a pretty good year for my cycling, but not so much for my blog. I came very close to achieving my cycling goals, but I'm hoping to do more in 2025. If you'd like to see what grand ideas I've planned for 2025, be sure to check out my: 2025 - Goals.
